About Us

The Planning Department plans for the future of the City by crafting a compelling, forward-looking vision. We proactively facilitate redevelopment through strong planning and project management; plan and implement beautiful public spaces and world-class amenities; and support vibrant commercial areas and neighborhoods.

The Department provides support for current and long-range planning studies, including bicycle plans, comprehensive/strategic plans, new home construction, park plans, streetscape plans, traffic studies, transit-oriented development plans, and zoning Code modifications.

The Department administers the zoning code and provides support for planning studies on a wide variety of topics, including comprehensive/strategic planning, transit-oriented development, bicycle/pedestrian planning, traffic studies, public art, streetscape and parks.
