News Flash

Update 11/25/24: Both nothbound and southbound lanes on the bridge will reopen this week and the detour for left turns onto Shaker Blvd. eastbound and westbound will be removed. Please note there will be occassional zones set up during the day so the County can finalize this project.

Cuyahoga County is reconstructing the bridge on Warrensville Center Rd. between Shaker Blvd. eastbound and westbound. The contractor for the County is Shirmer Construction. Anticipated completion is July 2025.

Please note:

• Bidirectional traffic — one lane of traffic in each direction — will be maintained throughout the project, but will shift from one side of the bridge to the other periodically. 
• Motorists traveling northbound on Warrensville Center Rd. will not be permitted to make a left turn onto Shaker westbound and will need to follow the detour to Fairmount Blvd. 
  Motorists traveling southbound on Warrensville Center Rd. will not be permitted to turn left onto Shaker eastbound and will need to follow the detour to Fairmount Blvd.
• Pedestrian access across the bridge will be maintained with temporary crossovers on both the northbound and southbound side of the bridge.

• Access to the Warrensville Center Rd. rapid station and the fire station will be maintained throughout the project.
