Residents are invited to a community meeting on Wednesday, February 26, 6:30 pm at Lomond Elementary School (17917 Lomond Blvd.) to learn more and ask questions.

This March, the City will break ground on the Lynnfield/Lomond Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) project, which will expand the capacity of the area’s sewer system in order to eliminate sanitary sewer overflows in the Lomond neighborhood. Impacted streets include Lomond Blvd., and Lynnfield, Sherrington and Palmerston roads.

Sanitary sewer overflows occur when the sewer system is overwhelmed, typically by stormwater, and discharges sanitary waste water into the local environment, sometimes also backing up into residents’ basements. The City anticipates 1,200 households in the Lomond neighborhood will be positively impacted by this project.

The City has secured the funding for this important project and anticipates construction will start in late March. The City will hold a public meeeting in February to provide details on the project and answer questions. Please check back for more information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Christian Maier at 216-491-1490 or by email. (Posted 9/3/24)
