Starting the week of December 16, 2024, a contractor will begin installing a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner in the sanitary main on Westchester, Bryon, and Holmwood roads. There will be no on-street parking permitted in work zones between 7 am and 7 pm.
The CIPP liner creates a seamless durable pipe within the existing sewer, to provide structural integrity to the existing sewer main and reduce the amount inflow and infiltration. This sewer rehabilitation method does not require any excavation.
The Public Works Department anticipates the project to take approximately three weeks to complete (weather permitting). The contractor , United Survey, will provide residents with additional information concerning any special arrangements that may be needed to install the liner. City Services will be maintained as the work takes place.
For safety, the work site will have signs, barricades and warning lights in place. Please follow the traffic patterns they establish. Also, please help keep neighborhood children safe by warning them about the danger of playing in the construction site or on any of the equipment.
Anthony Smith, Public Works Sewer Superintendent, is project administrator and is available to answer your questions by phone, 216-491-1490, or email – Anthony.Smith@shakerheightsoh.gov.
