Background
RTA will undertake projects to build a new train platform, comfort station, and shelters and to relocate the electric utility’s substation equipment. In 2024, the City of Shaker Heights recieved $1.5 million in Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funds from the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) to fund streetscape and plaza improvements in and around the station. The City, with guidance from the Public Art Task Force, will integrate one-of-a-kind public art into the plaza space.
