Green up your lawncare program with the help of the City of Shaker Heights. The City's Sustainability Committee is offering residents — on a first come, first served basis — the opportunity to earn a $100 rebate for purchasing a battery-powered electric lawn mower and/or a battery-powered electric leaf blower and turning in their gas-powered version of this equipment. Residents may get a rebate for the purchase of both a mower and blower ($200 rebate in total).
To be eligible for the rebate, residents must:
- Purchase a new electric battery-powered lawn mower and/or leaf blower from any vendor. Save the purchase receipt and take a photo of the make, model, and serial number on the electric mower and/or blower.
- Bring their gas-powered lawn mower and/or blower, with an empty fuel tank, to the City’s Service Center located at 15600 Chagrin Blvd. on Saturday, May 4, 9am-3 pm. You will be able to complete the rebate form during this event so please also bring the other required documents (digital or print).
As noted, the program is first come, first served for residents who meet the program's criteria as stated above. A total of 40 $100 rebates will be awarded. The rebate will be issued by check and sent by mail approximately three weeks after the complete information is received.
