Community Engagement

The Police Department strives to work in partnership with the community to make Shaker Heights a safe and enjoyable place to live. Our officers regularly participate in community events and meet with community groups. 

Engage With Us

Our Community Engagement Unit - supervised by Sergeant Tim Grafton - can help in the following ways:

• Provide crime prevention education, including security surveys of homes and businesses.
• Participate in your community event, meet with your community group or provide a tour of the station at 3355 Lee Rd. Make a request with the Community Engagement Request form.
• Help address your community concerns, like traffic problems and quality of life issues. Use the Report a Traffic Concern and Report a Community Concern forms to tell us about your concerns. (Learn how to report problems with streetlights, traffic signals or street signs.)

Shaker residents and business owners are also invited to apply for the Citizens Police Academy, a 10-week program that offers participants the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes experience with the Department.
